CDL schools: every FMCSA-registered public training location
Since February 7, 2022, first-time Class A and Class B applicants, Class B-to-A upgrades, and first-time passenger, school-bus and hazmat endorsement applicants must complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) with a provider listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. This directory lists the 2,958 active, in-person registry locations that accept the public and teach Class A or Class B behind-the-wheel training, filtered from the registry's October 28, 2026 download.

Choosing a CDL school
Ask every school: Is tuition all-in (permit fees, DOT physical, drug test, testing fees)? Do you provide the truck for the skills test? How many behind-the-wheel hours does each student get? Do carriers hire your graduates? Read our guide to ELDT and CDL training.
Source: FMCSA Training Provider Registry, location list as of 10/28/2026. We include locations with status Active, type In-Person, and not private-enrollment-only, where Class A or Class B theory, range and public-road training are all offered. We left out 643 such locations whose names indicate school districts, carriers, transit agencies, government bodies or similar organizations training their own people. The registry does not publish prices, pass rates or job-placement data; confirm those with the school. Registry listing is not an endorsement.
